When The Birds Leave The Nest

As a child, I was blessed. I was raise by two very loving, caring, understanding and most of all wise parents. They did everything in their power to make sure that my brothers, sisters or I were fed, educated and cared for. They were not only our parents, but also our mentors. They did a great job preparing us for the outside world. As my father would say," Son your mother and I, did everything a parent is obligated to do." We raised you into a healthy and educated young man." "But there is one thing we could never give you and that's wisdom. For that my son, you will have to get that on your own." Now its time you learn what grown ups do and that's survive. When my parents decided that I was old enough, they allowed me to leave the nest. Although they were worried, when I left home they then had to do what all parents must do at that time. Which is too always put their faith and trust in God, then prayed that I would be okay. They counted on their many years of rearing me and preparing me for the outside world.
I will always remember the words my father said to me when I left the house on that day. He would say, "Charles remember everything I taught you, but also remember all your failures". Because there will be times in your life where everything seems perfect and then you fail. That's when you draw from your past experiences and do what it takes to succeed. That my son is how the wise become wise. They learn from their trials and their tribulations. They weather the storms and survive to live another day. He would also say the wise never give up and when in doubt they always put their trust in the one that has created us all," our Father in Heaven". To those who are blessed to read this take some sound and free advice. Learn something new everyday. Never take anything for granted. Always keep an open mind. Walk in to every door that God has prepared you for. Also you can learn something new, from just about anyone. Be very careful when you are talking to people, because they just may be Gods, Angels in disguised, trying to help you.  Become wise so that you can help others or to prepare your children when they decide to leave home or the nest.
May God bless you all,
Charles

  1. Charles,
I really enjoyed reading this blog and your parents were very wise parents. I commend them for the morals and values both parents instilled in you. When parents teach their children morals and values of life, it help to build their character for the outside world. Mentoring is the shaping of a person inner being, who will always follow the cores to create a winning future. Yes, its true we all will someitmes wither the storm, but through the storm we have to know how to stand. Either we can be taken by the storm are survive to the end of the storm. As we grow into adulthood, we must know how to make wise decisions, not all decisions will be successful, also not all failures means the end of the world. Having a positive productive life takes work, sacrifice, and commitment. Anything you want to accomplish you have to put your best effort forward and continue to trust your judgment from the decisions you make. Growing up I was always taught about the basics of ethics, individual beliefs and social norms what's right and wrong. I still apply those concepts I learned from my parents and grandparents to live a productive life. In my teenage years I remebered all the lessons and lectures my parents had given me and my siblings, especially my mother, whom I love dearly. My mother would tell me whatever you apply to your life is exactly what you receive in return. My grandmother God bless her soul would say: If you sow good deeds you will receive good in return, if you sow bad than you will reap the percussion of bad. My grandmother was a very wise person who love God, and especially her family. My grandmother was the type of person that would help a stranger on the street, she had a loving and giving heart, I think I was blessed with some of my grandmother's personality traits. When I think about the morals and values of life, my mother and father taught me and my siblings, I knew who taught them the values of life, and I am so grateful for the unconditional love of my grandparents. Their mentoring ways of teaching my parents helped me become the Woman of God I am today. Thanks for sharing Charles, have a bless day.
