When God Moves

Many of us, including myself sometimes take a few things  for granted like waking up in the morning, having food on our tables , being able to walk, talk or pray. Sometimes some of us pray, just out of habit and not knowing or even expecting, God to answer. This reminds me of something that I once heard a great Mississippi Pastor  say," When God Moves" things happen"! Then he would go on to say, that God doesn't do anything or allow anything to happen without a reason. The reason for prayer he would say, is so one can have a spiritual connection with God. He hears you, he would say and he already knows your needs or desires before you ask him for it. All that is required is for one to ask and it shall be given to the believer. When I think about those powerful words, I often think about my own life, especially those times when I was troubled, in pain and stressed out. If you lived long enough, then you too would have realize that life can sometimes be hard and other times very stressful. Also somethings that happen to us in our lives, are to us sometimes unexpected. The reason I say to us, is because when things happen we don't pay attention to the warning signs that God provides for us daily.

To give an example of this, I once had a conversation with a young woman who was having problems with a live in boyfriend of over three years. One day out of the blue, her boyfriend decided to put her out and now she was out on the streets without a car or a way of living. These are her word exactly , Charles I have been praying for peace every since this relationship started. The man I am involved with has been married two times, he is a war veteran and he is crazy. He is very jealous, possessive and very controlling. I am so scared of him to the point that I told my children who are now in Texas to never come around me, because I care about their safety. My children told me to leave and I have prayed, but nothing I do seems to give me peace.
After she finished talking, I asked her did she put her burdens , troubles or problems in the hand of the Lord? Then she answered me by saying yes, I just told you that I pray daily. Then I said, You can't tell me after you prayed ,that God didn't provide you with a way out. I know for a fact that over those three years, that you had plenty of opportunities to leave and you didn't. Then she said to me, Yes I have had opportunities, to leave but it just wasn't the right time. Then I asked her why? Then she said because the car I was driving, was his and also because my money wasn't right. Then I said, So you let a car, money or material possession keep you from having a peace of mind? Then she looked at me with tears in her eyes, cried out loud and then said Yes! Then I said to her, every time that we pray God hears our prayers, in his own time he will answer all that truly needs him. But if we are stubborn, then refuse to do what's right when God provides us with an answer, like an open door or a way out. God himself will remove the problem or move the person or the persons that are causing the problem. Just look at it like this, you refused to move or to go when God provided you with a way out, so God decided to move you himself. Sometimes the right choices are not easy or convenient , they are just right. But instead all of us choose the easy way and stay in bad relationships or stressful jobs. We don't trust Gods plan or purpose for our life and we go with whats easy or convenient, even if it happens to be a stressful situation. That is when God steps in and then solves our problems for us. When God moves things happen and always for the glory of the Lord.
Have a blessed weekend,
Charles
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.
James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
1 John 3:22
And whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
