Behind Closed Doors

Have you ever wondered how it felt to be rich or to have everything a person could ever want in life? Doesn't it sometimes bother you too see people happy while you are struggling trying to make ends meet? Sometimes when we see people driving those fancy cars , living in those fancy homes, going on those extravagant vacations or eating at the finest restaurants', its hard not to get jealous or even envious. Even though as a christian male, I know that the bible teaches that jealousy and envy is a sin, but its very hard not to feel that way. Sometimes I have been guilty myself of being envious of a person that I know is doing wrong, but are still blessed while doing so. Its enough to make one wonder why? Why does God continue to bless those who knowingly sin , while others who are trying to do the right thing struggles?

There is one person in my life that made me appreciate the blessings, that I already have and that's my late grandmother. I remember telling her how much , I wish or craved too be rich. This is how our conversation started. I said grandmother," I wished I had a lot of money, drove the finest cars and lived in the finest homes in the world". Then she smiled at me and then said," Chuck if you had all of the things you wished for, then what would be left too dream or work for"? Do you really believe that having money or material things are the keys too happiness? I told my grandmother that I didn't know. Then she said," Chuck, those people that are rich or well off have problems just like you or I and some have problems worse than the average person". Yes, its true that most rich people don't have the normal problems, you or I have like, paying bills or possessing material things, but they do have their share of problems that I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy. I too grandson, have been guilty of wishing I had what others possessed, but like my grandmother before you told me, always beware of what lies Behind Closed Doors.

When I question my grandmother on what she meant about Closed Doors, she went on to explain too me, that somethings are not always what they seem or appear to be. An example of this is she would say is, when you may see famous people, like a movies stars, professional athletes, politicians, Pastors, Priest and even some drug dealers who appear to have it made. These people might be very rich, drive the nicest cars, live in the finest homes and when they are in front of the cameras they appear too be the happiest people or couples in the world. But Behind Closed Doors, they are going through a divorce, having problems with their children, husband, wife or be on the verge of bankruptcy. Many of them are so stressed out that even trying to portray that perfect image, for their family, fans, friends or for the rest of the world becomes tiresome. Behind Closed Doors, only known to themselves and to God  that they are going through a living hell or living a lie. Don't be fooled my brothers or sisters in Christ, many who may smile in your face today, will be crying tomorrow behind those same expensive closed doors that they paid for.

To those that are blessed enough to read this, don't become jealous or envious of people that are rich, wicked or of those who will do almost anything to get ahead. I know sometimes it gets hard working from pay check to the next and you may be tried of struggling. But God our Father in Heaven has a blessing and plan for your life. While others may live their life for others or for the world too see always live your life to please God. For even behind doors you shall receive the blessings of the Lord.
May God continue you bless you always,
Charles

  2. I enjoyed reading this blog and every word that you shared is so true. People may appear to you one way, but behind closed door they act differently. You should always remain your true self at all time. Even though no one is perfect, but your character speaks for itself. Whatever goes on in the dark definitely comes to the light. Great words of inspiration.
