On The Other Side Of The Fence

Do you understand or feel sorry for someone who has it worse than you do? Have you ever been through a divorce or lost someone you loved or cared for? Have you experienced someone dying in your family and understand it when someone cries when they loose someone they love? Have you ever been laid of, fired from your job or have you ever been homeless? If you are lucky or if you have been very blessed chances are you never experienced some of the things most people around the world experience everyday. Some people in the world have problems that some of us couldn't even phantom. My father used to always tell me as a child, Son you are blessed. Your mother and I have provide you a place to stay. As long as you live here you will always have food to eat. Everything you need your mother and I will provide for you. But one day you will be grown and you will have to experience the world for yourself. Everything that I taught you and every lesson I gave you, will be needed when you get into the outside world. He would go on to say there are two sides of the fence in the world and you never know what side you may be on, so count your blessing. Life is funny that way, one day you can be on top of the world and the next day one strange event can have your  world crashing down around you. One day you can have it all and the next it can be taken from you in an instant. That is why people have to be careful when they criticize someone, when they are going through a bad time in their life, because just as easy as it happen to them the very same thing can happen to you. There are several  things, that I would encourage people to do while living their lives. One appreciate what appears to be very small things, when in fact they are big things. You may ask what could I possibly be talking about? Well for one , if you woke up today or even if you are reading this journal at this moment, you are blessed. Some may think even being alive is just a small blessing , when in fact its a very big blessing. For those who may question this statement, just look at the facts. There is someone dying every second of the day, just be happy its not you. You or I could be on the other side of that fence, so all should get on their knees everyday and thank God that our time has not come yet. Another thing people have to be grateful for is that all who live today and the next day have a chance at getting their life right. What I mean by this even if you are in prison and you are locked up for life you still have a chance at changing your life for the better. For those who are free your chance is even greater. Anyone who can read or write knows right from wrong and those who do whats right get the benefits from doing the right thing. But to those who chose to live the wrong way and break the rules, then those are the ones who must face the consequence's of their actions. This past sentence is also meant for those who would say I could never do anything wrong or for those who would say to themselves that they would never put themselves in that position to do something that may get them in trouble. For those people my mother used to always say, "Never say never, because never is a long time". What she meant by this statement is time has a way of giving people who live long enough many of life's vast experience's , some may be good and others may be bad. Just because your life may be going well for you at this very moment, there only takes one mistake, one failure or one great sin to turn your life upside down or for the worse. So appreciate your blessings while you have it, because tomorrow you could be looking at life from the other side of the fence.
Have a blessed evening and a wonderful weekend,
Charles
St. Matthew 6:33-34
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (34) Take therefore no thought for tomorrow; for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
