A Family That Prays

There is a very old but very true statement that has been around for many centuries and generations, "A family that prays together stays together". Someone once asked me, who should lead the prayer at dinner or before bed time? Then they went on to ask should the man of the house take the lead or should someone else do it? My answer was simple, it doesn't matter who leads the prayer (husband, wife or child) , just as long as someone does it correctly with the blessing from God. A marriage or a family will always be a work in progress and a good marriage or a God fearing family does not become successful  over night. It take years of practice, patience, understanding, developing trust, strong faith in each other and a strong relationship with God. A lot of people get it mixed up when they say they seek a husband or a wife that is already equally yoked or the perfect spouse or mate. Because there is not perfect or equally yoked person out there and until Christ comes back there will always be imperfect people for we all live in an imperfect world. A couple, husband or wife will have to grow together, endure many storms, trails or tribulations, before they can become one. The Bible says when man or woman marry, they will in fact become one. That means over time they grow to learn each other wants or needs, then adjust each other ways and through  grace of God become one or equally yoked.

Prayer is real key to any successful  marriage, family or relationship and in order for it to remain that way God must be the head of any member that resides in any of these groups. I once had a lady ask me this question, How do I ensure that I will have a successful marriage or a stable family relationship? My answer to this is by each member understanding their roles and living their lives according to Gods will. Living by Gods rules means understanding your roles, that mean the man is the head , the woman is the help mate and children being obedient students learning or preparing for the outside world. I know a lot of women may have a problem with this statement.Because of some of the weakness their spouses may have or the trouble their children may cause and that's why is God made women strong enough to bare almost anything. That means where her husband is weak, then the wife should be strong and where his wife is weak then husband should be strong.Together as husband or wife, there are no goals that can not be reached with faith in each other and faith in God.

A marriage or a family that follows Gods rules, then  prays together as one will forever be blessed. Does that mean there will not be challenges or pitfalls? No, because the devils ,main job is to seek or destroy. He knows that God blesses a marriage and hates divorce. The devil will do anything to break up a family, that loves God and follows his rules. That's is why it is so important that the family prays all the time together and give thanks for everything, including the good, the bad, the trails or the tribulations. That's why the husband or the wife have to remain faithful to each other, trusting God more than they trust each other and live by his rules. Doing this God will bless the marriage and over time a deep bond will develop that can't be broken, by any man or evil spirit. Through time each will understand the reason why God has put them together and also who is their real enemy.(the devil) It is his job is to tear them apart, he will stop at nothing to break up a happy home or a blessed marriage. If God is the mist ,then their is none that can tear it apart. Always remember with prayer any marriage or relationship can survive any storm, because A Family That Prays together will  always stay together with the blessings of God.
Have a blessed day,
Charles

As a note the next time you pray, grab your spouses hand then give honor to God. Even when you pray silently in the middle of the night place your hand on your spouse while you pray. Doing so will not only bring blessings to yourself, but also to one your are praying for.

Psalm 32:6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
Psalm 69:13
But I pray to you, LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation.
