One of the greatest things about growing up or then getting older, is the lessons we all learn along the way. Life can sometime be very difficult, without our parents, teachers, Pastors, Priest, Mentors, God's Angels and our many life experiences, many of us would be lost. That's why I thank God everyday, three hundred and sixty-fives days of the year, for my many blessings. I not only thank him for my many successes, but also for my mistakes or failures. Why? Because those mistakes have made me stronger, wiser, and they also helped me grow. Now that I think back, I often remember what I first learned as a child. Some of us learned our alphabets, while others learn how to count or their numbers. But for me the mistake or failure were my most valuable learning experiences. I remember being in Kindergarten, trying to learn how many seconds were there in a minute, how many minutes in a hour, how many days in the week and then finally how many days in the year. It was there early in school where I learned from my first mistake in school and also who Jesus was. As a child I was very eager to answer any question the teacher would call out. Back then I thought I was so smart and I felt that I didn't have to study. Even though my mother would always insist that I should study before I attempted to take a test or exam. I can still hear her words still ringing in my ear, even as an adult in my late forties, when she would say," Charles never stop learning or growing and always pray and you should always do these things, three hundred sixty-five days of the year for as long as you live".
Its ironic that is the question, my teacher asked that I failed to answer. Everyone in classed laughed at me when I said, there are sixty seconds , instead of three hundred sixty- five days of the year. After that mistake I learned to pay attention more, not only to my Mother, Teacher or Pastor, but to everything or everyone around me. I learned to take my time , learn from my mistakes and not to make the same mistakes over and over again. I also learned to study and also to learn from others, so that I could be a better, smarter, wiser or stronger man. Also to praise God daily for my blessings, not only a few days of the week or on Sundays, but all through the year. Why? Because without him I couldn't learn anything and also because he is not only my provider, but also my greatest teacher. I have learned a lot from our Father in Heaven since I became a Christian. I learned to trust him with my troubles, not to worry when when things go wrong and to always have faith three hundred and sixty-five days of the year, no matter what I go through. That's why I praise him, because he is not only good to me a few days of the week or the year, but also although the year, three hundred sixty five days of the year or always. For God is good not just good ,some of the time, but all of the time! Sixty seconds of an minute, twenty four hours of the day, seven days of the week, three hundred sixty-five days of the year and always!
Have a blessed week,
Charles
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
God definitely has a way to come into our lives in many ways to show us that He is God. He sometimes places people in our lives for a season for His reasons. Each day we live on earth God is with us in the good and the bad. Life teaches us many lessons if we only take time out to sit back, watch, listen and observe. Today so many of us consume ourselves in worldly things we don't praise and thank God for all the blessings He gives us. Our schedules are so busy we don't take out time for God, ourselves, family, friends or anyone. We become selfish and let materialistic things rule our lives. We think that we are in control of our lives and sometimes other people's lives. God made us all and everything in the world. Its amazing how many people think they wake themselves up in the morning, they work and buy things in life, many people think they have power and control over the world. Just as many people are rich in having money, expensive houses, cars, etc., many people look down and criticize others. God can take it all away from them in a second. So many people are lost and do not have God in their lives. Many people think that going to a church house on Sunday this is praising God. Sunday is one of the most segregated days of the week. The next time you go to church on any day of the week, first count the number of churches you pass to get to your church or the church you are going to and once you get inside, count the number of people in the church that is not from your race/ethnicity. Many people say they are Christians yet when they go to their church to worship it is not a variety of people. Many say they are Christians and won't say good morning or hi to you in the church house, will not shake your hand. Can you give the number of people you encountered this week that gave you an encouraging word or said anything about God? How many times in a year do you pray to God, thank Him or tell others about Him. I believe if we have God in our lives as we say we do, it will be seen from a distance, people will want to be around you, they will ask you questions about God or how can they give an encouraging word to another fellow man, woman or child. Oh I soon we put God to the side when things are going good in our lives. The day something we think is bad happens or a situation we don't want to deal with, we are on our knees praying, calling our Pastor, family, friends asking for prayer. Yes we should pray to God 365 days not only for ourselves but for everyone, especially those who has not accepted Him in their lives. Without God we are nothing. Put God first in your life and you will be able to better understand and accept God is in control and will give us what we need.
